Private Frank G. Karafotis   

 

Frank George Karafotis was born in 1924 in Wisconsin and is deceased with the combat on June 6, 1944 during the airborne operation of Normandy.

 

He was private within the Company B of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment.

His father George Karafotis was born in Greece, he was a manufacturer of sugar refinery, his mother named Nea Maria Davis.

He has also 2 sisters and a brother.

Pvt Karafotis is decorated with Purple Heart, of the French Croix de guerre, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star and Arrowhead, of World War II Victory Medal, the WWII Honorable Service Lapel Button. He has also its patent of Parachute, a Combat Infantryman Badge and Presidential Distinguished Unit Emblem.

 

Pvt Frank G. Karafotis is buried with the American cemetery of Normandy, with Colleville-sur-Mer, in France. Plot F, Row 23, Grave 36.
