Private First Class Lawrence L Butler

 

Lawrence Butler was born in 1914, in Pennsylvania and lost his life July 12, 1944 during the Normandy Operation.

 

Lawrence Butler was the son of Patrick Butler, who worked as a miner in a coal mine and Ann Butler.

The family has three childern. Lawrence had one brother and one sister.

 

Lawrence Butler had graduated from elementary school when he was enlisted August 7, 1941. He was sent to Baltimore, Maryland.

 

He volunteered for the paratroopers and will join the HQ Company of 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment. 

 

The 6 June 1944, he participated in Neptune Operation. He jumped at Normandy. Unfortunately, he will killed in action the 12 July 1944.

 

Pfc Lawrence Butler is buried in the American cemetery of Normandy, in Colleville-sur-Mer, France. Plot H, Row 21, Grave 33.
