Staff Sergeant Edwin « Andy » Anderson

 

Edwin Anderson was born in March, 26th 1916 in McCracken County. He was seriously wounded in April 1945 and died in hispitaly in May 15th, 1945.

 

After completing his studies, Edwin married Barabara Delores Wenderski October 5, 1936. They had 4 children.

 

He was drafted in December, 17th 1943 in Denver, Colorado. He volunteered for the paratroopers and after its patent, it was incorporated into the Company G 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment.

 

S/Sgt Edwin Anderson was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, the French Croix de Guerre, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star and Arrowhead, World War II Victory Medal of WWII Honorable Service Lapel Button. It also has a paratrooper, a Combat Infantryman Badge and the Presidential Distinguished Unit Emblem.

S/Sgt Edwin Anderson is buried in Epinal American cemetery in the Vosges, France. Plot B, Row 23, grave 15.
